Artist's Comments

Neil Gaiman's Death, Dream's sister.

We're all going to meet her someday. She's in no hurry to claim us, she rests in certainty that all things eventually lead to her, even gods and immortals. She will be there when the Universe itself ends, to wrap it up and lock the door behind her.

Considerate la vostra semenza:
fatti non foste a viver come bruti,
ma per seguir virtute e canoscenza. ;)

I love the way you coloured it. The background is cool, too

Though the night's still glowing round
Yet I know the day is bad
Pop stars in a paper bread
And again I find my face
All neglected, out of place
In my hair there is some spray

I love it !
Especially her expression, really good job.

I always liked the idea of death being a person, and such a nice person at that - it makes everything seem so comforting, doesn't it ?

Thank you! I'm still not very used to painting directly in Photoshop, thus the practise, but I really like the outcome and I'm going to practise more ;)

Wow, I can't paint photoshop, it's black magic for me. Your art looks like you are doing well, very well with digital art.

Exactly ;) She's a very odd character - so dark and occult and haunting on one hand, and so friendly, kind and approachable on the other. I think it is said that she of all the Endless loves humans the most. I'm a sucker for the symbolism in Neil Gaiman's work! :D

I adore "Mirrormask". I haven't seen/read any of his other works, but this and that movie (one of my favorites of all time) REALLY made me want to.
:icongeorged:
Thank you for your kind comments :) Wow, I hadn't heard anything about MirrorMask until you mentioned it - I looked it up and it seems gorgeous! I'm definitely picking that up!

If you're into comic books or graphic novels I suggest you read anything from the Sandman series - they're amazing books!
:iconmarshmallowblue:
Will do. =D Thanks for the suggestion.

And I think you'll love Mirrormask; it's delightful.
